Art has always been an inseparable part of my life. From an early age, my professors recognized my artistic potential and urged my parents to send me to art school. However, I ultimately followed a different path—one shaped by family expectations—and pursued a career in medicine. Despite being accepted into several art programs, I relinquished my artistic aspirations at the time and attended medical school, where I trained to become a surgeon.

Yet, the call of creativity never left me. After completing my residency, I found my way back to art by enrolling in evening courses at the Otis College of Art and Design. Initially drawn to fashion design—a field deeply rooted in my family’s history—I launched two fashion lines. However, balancing the demands of both fashion and medicine proved overwhelming, leading me to transition into fine arts. I immersed myself in oil painting, color theory, life drawing, collage, assemblage, art history, and art theory, completing all coursework required for a Master’s in Fine Arts, though my medical career prevented me from finalizing the degree within the designated timeframe.

For me, art is not just a passion; it is a necessity. I often say, “I could not do my day job without my night job.” Surgery is an art in itself, requiring precision, an understanding of aesthetics, and an innate sense of form—qualities that also define my work as a visual artist. My patients often see the synergy between my expertise in cosmetic surgery and my artistic vision, and I wholeheartedly agree. Both disciplines are deeply intertwined, each enhancing my ability to see and create beauty.

My artistic focus leans toward abstract expression, where form, movement, and emotion take precedence over literal representation. The aesthetic sensibility that guides my work in surgery also informs my approach to painting and mixed media. I have exhibited in several art shows, received multiple awards, and am now taking the next step in my creative journey by establishing this platform—a space where I can share my art with the world.

Through my work, I strive to create a dialogue between structure and spontaneity, precision and fluidity, the tangible and the abstract. Whether in the operating room or the studio, my vision remains the same: to craft beauty, inspire emotion, and bring artistic expression to life.
